HORMOBIOME provides sustained mentorship and supervision across the full early-career research pipeline, contributing to capacity building and talent development in microbiome and hormone research. This includes the supervision of undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students, as well as the mentorship of high-capacity researchers selected through competitive programmes such as DACIU (Development of High Intellectual Capacities at University) and international initiatives including IMFAHE.
Mentorship activities encompass research design, experimental planning, data analysis, interdisciplinary integration and responsible research practices, with particular emphasis on emerging profiles at the interface of microbiome science, data science and artificial intelligence. These activities support the development of scientific independence, advanced methodological skills and long-term research trajectories.
In addition, HORMOBIOME contributes to professional training through the supervision of vocational training (Formación Profesional) students in laboratory sciences and web technologies, reinforcing links between academic research, technical training and digital skills.
